This is an orange blossom on a cactus near my parent’s house in Gold Canyon. I'm not sure what cactus blossom it is as I have very little knowledge of them. The color is so brilliant it caught my attention as I drove by. I stopped the car and took several images. Cactus is a rugged and hostile plant but yet the blossoms are so beautiful. I'm a bit disappointed in the focus but the beauty of the blossom makes it a keeper for me.

You're right about the beauty of the blossom ... definitely a keeper. The sharpness of the spines up there in the top right make for a really interesting contrast to the blossoms. Looks like it (the plant) is loaded with plenty more blooms ... perhaps you'll have another shot at this.

Yup, looks like you caught your 300 wandering a bit there but I agree the coloring of these flowers is not to be missed. Sure hope you can get back to catch those other buds open.
