This image is one from a series of photos on isolated trees called Standing Alone. At first glance you may suspect this to be a foggy morning but it is actually a snowing and taken during December. This tree is east of town about 8 miles and is one that I like to visit at any time of day and season.

Monte: My first impression was of snow, before I read your comments. Very nice. I look forward to seeing photos of this tree taken at other seasons. Love your quote! It has been some time since I read May Sarton. I resonate with her statement.

@Anita: I've never heard of Mary Sarton before. I found the quote on the internet and liked it. And, I will provide more photos of this tree and other similar. You know, they are predicting snow tonight and tomorrow. Where is Spring?

This is a shot I really like. Composed well, and with a nice soft tint.

@Observing: Thanks for commenting!
Great image, Monte ... beautifully composed. The tree, itself, is full of character, which is heightened by snowy backdrop.
