“The grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never dried all at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls.” John Muir
The last two days have been cloudy and overcast preventing any colorful sunrise to be witnessed by my camera. However, in my archives I have this December morning that was taken just east of town in 2006. The sky in this image was cloudless allowing the atmospheric refraction, which causes the sun to be seen while it is still below the horizon, to colorfully present the dawn of the day. The silhouette of the farmer’s buildings and equipment adds to the image giving us a perspective of the scene. Hope your day dawns bright! :) Monte

@michelle: I've read somewhere that our images should speak for themselves, leaving the viewer in awe. Every once in while we do succeed. Thanks!
Magnificent, Monte! Beautifully composed and stunning color ... it's shots like this that make me happy that I'm an early riser!

@Ron: Thanks, Ron! There is a clock inside of me that does not like to sleep late, even when I go to bed later.
A truly fantastic silhouette image. I am pleased to see that you have utilized the whole sky to express your personal approach to this image. So much better than centre framing as some folks would have you do. The photographer is the artist..!
