I used to fly out of this airport several times many years ago (while Reagan was in office) when it was simply called National Airport. I guess I was too much in a hurry to get to my gate before the planes pulled away to look up and admire the architecture. This is a wonderful shot.

I used to ride my bicycle to a small park that was at the north end of the runway, along the Mt. Vernon Trail, and watch the jets land and takeoff. They were so low at that point, I wondered if they were going to land on me! It's probably closed now out of security concerns. What memories!
