Sitting in Contemplation

"As you visit a natural area, shift your perception so that you see the objects around you as processes. See a tree, for example, as just one moment in the life-cycle of a process that changes continuously, every season, every day, from seed to tree to rotting log." Gerald Grow

Now that the cold wintery season is here our landscape has lost the green color, our trees are naked of their leaves and transparent while the skies have taken on that dull gray look. This self portrait was taken at the Inniswoods Garden, one of my favorite places to spend quiet time. It was not very long ago I was posting images of busy bees pollinating flowers, a beautiful chorus sung by birds, squirrels darting from branch to branch, butterflies tasting the nectar of the flowers and everything radiated the color green. :) But no matter if summer or winter it is still a place to sit and contemplate. Have a great day!
